We both had good jobs, stable incomes, lived in a great town, got out in the van often, but we were still living a safe and comfortable life. One day, like all ideas, Tim said: “Let’s drive to South America.” And just like that an idea was not only born, but a goal was made, and life became “dangerous” again. It took two years of strict saving, building out two vans (yes 2), planning our next moves and eventually turning in those scary resignations to our respective jobs.
We have now been on the road for a mere five months, and have no thoughts of turning back anytime soon. Our days are spent surfing and just enjoying life along with our 100-pound travel companion, Lewis. We have no timeline and really no plan, just point the van south and live with no boundaries, letting our imagination and curiosity set the pace.
